About Me

My work is playful, narrative and textured. I love vintage children’s books, deadlines and prompts. Colour thrills me; I’m blessed with synesthesia, which means I see words in colour and sometimes I can taste them too!

I grew up in the North of England but spent much of my childhood travelling the world in rusty cargo ships with my seafaring father, always dreaming, always drawing, always telling stories. 

Later I studied design and glass making at Staffordshire University where I won a scholarship to The Prague Academy of Arts. Recently I completed The Children's Picture Book course run by The Good Ship Illustration, and I'm very excited to see where it leads me.

I live in Manchester where I draw every day and grow fantastic tomatoes on my tiny balcony.
